Becoming a Continuing Education Provider
Where is the growth in our business today?
There is little doubt that one key area of growth is in working with CPAs.
-CPAs have hundreds, if not thousands, of clients (depending on the size of the firm)
-CPAs are considered the most trusted advisors to their clients (more than insurance agents or financial planners)
-CPAs are looking for revenue
Making you the “Expert”
CPAs, like most professions, have a significant amount of Continuing Education they must receive every year to keep their license (20-40 hours a year in most states).
Most CPAs are tired and bored with the same old Continuing Education seminars they have to choose from each year.
We can help advisors get set up to give in excess of 40 hours of in-person Certified Continuing Education to CPAs on the following subjects (list is not exhaustive):
-Life insurance (EIUL, WL, term, single premium, etc.)
-Annuities (fixed indexed, fixed, variable, hybrids)
-Money management (how to avoid risk in the stock market)
-Long-term care insurance (including single-premium life designed for LTC)
-Captive insurance companies
-Qualified plans (401(k), profit sharing plans, defined benefit, cash balance, 401(h))
When you are the instructor for Continuing Education for CPAs, they see you as the expert. By being an instructor, you will get to know the CPAs you are educating which will lead to referrals when you discuss topics that can benefit their clients.
Making CPAs Additional Revenue
CPAs have seen their fee income drop substantially over the last decade. With the introduction of Turbo Tax and other easy-to-file personal tax return systems, CPAs have seen their revenue shrink.
Many are already licensed to sell insurance or have a securities license. Many who don’t are considering getting licensed.
CPAs are a funny breed though. Many get licenses and then do nothing with them. The reason being is that they don’t feel comfortable with the subject matter. This is an opportunity for those who want to seize it.
When being an instructor for Continuing Education for CPAs, again, you are seen as the expert and will start forming relationships with CPAs. IF you have “proven strategies” to help their clients and create additional revenue streams for the CPAs, you will have opened Pandora ’s Box to a huge source of revenue (revenue from sharing business with the CPA).
We offer advisors who are interested a “turnkey” marketing platform for CPAs who are interested. This includes a website, educational e-newsletters, DVDs, videos, books, etc.
The goal is to make it so easy for a CPA to get an insurance or financial planning firm up and running as a new profit center that they can’t say no.
